What is PUR Foam by Sleepers™?
PUR is the name that we chose to describe our foam sleep products category. The "PU" in PUR stands for PolyUrethane foam, the world's most widely used comfort cushioning. Polyurethane foam can be found everywhere around you - in desk chairs, sofas, car seats, carpet underlay, shoes, packaging materials and novelty items, to name a few.
All foam, however, is not created equal. When we say it's "PUR Foam by Sleepers," we are assuring you that we have intelligently selected the PU qualities Recognized for use in quality sleep products.
You've told us that Quality, Performance, Comfort and the Environment are important to you. With PUR Foam by Sleepers™ we demonstrate that these requirements are important to us as well. We want to be known for comfortable, durable, affordable sleep products. And, we want to do our part to insure the health of your home, our factory, and the environment in general.
We've always been sticklers for quality in selecting our suppliers and individual components. We ask that our manufacturing partners give us timely and accurate data concerning the physical properties and performance characteristics of the materials they supply. With its ISO registration, our foam supplier assures us that they have a system in place for delivering the quality we seek. We trust that their foam components will not only meet our requirements, but yours as well.
Recently, there has been an exciting development within the polyurethane foam manufacturing community. Several major foam producers, including ours, have recently earned the CertiPUR-US seal of certification. Exactly what is it:
- It is a voluntary testing, analysis, and certification program developed by the members of the global foam industry in conjunction with the Alliance For Polyurethane Foam (AFPF).
- It involves component testing designed to insure durability, minimize environmentally hazardous substances, and set indoor air quality (emissions) standards for products.
- It is designed for individual foam components of a mattress, a furniture construction or a consumer product.
- The Certification is based on meeting requirements for specific foam families.
We are pleased to note that majority of our foam components are certified under the CertiPUR-US program.
