Supporting
Saskatchewan Since 1983
Our
support of the community goes beyond making the mattresses that our
customers love to sleep on. While our focus is on helping you get a
good night’s sleep, we are involved in a number of projects that
promote personal health and well-being, as well as community spirit
and development.
Sleep/Health
A
good night's sleep is an equal partner in the "Triumvirate of Health",
along with good diet and fitness habits. Here at Sleepers, we provide
information about the sleep/health link through in-store presentations,
educational materials and special events. If you are interested in finding
our more about our community education focus, please contact us via
email with the phrase "sleep ed" in the subject line. If you
are interested in booking your group for a factory tour, type "factory
tour" in the subject line.
Work Education
Each year we provide opportunities for young people to gain work experience
in a factory setting. Projects range from supervised learning modules,
apprenticeships of up to twelve month duration and post-secondary research
projects. Our educational partners include boards of education, the
University of Saskatchewan, SIAST, the University of Regina Co-Op Program,
and Partners in Employment (formerly the Saskatchewan Abilities Council).
Masters Volleyball
The Sleepers Marvelous Masters volleyball league men's division unfortunately will not be available this year. The women's division is yet to be determined.
Bed Bank
Sleepers Mattress Factory proudly supports local charities that provide
shelter and support to people in our communities who are in need through
our Bed Bank initiative. The store allocates a portion of sales during
special promotional periods to the Bed Bank. The proceeds of these campaigns
are used for the manufacture of new mattresses that will be donated
to well deserving charities. Tamara’s House, a healing centre
for adult survivors of child sexual abuse, is a recent recipient of
sleep sets from the Bed Bank. www.tamarashouse.sk.ca
Another organization which we have recently lent our support to is Colonsay,
SK based Prairie Hope Ministries, a non-profit organization that a faith-based
residential treatment program for young people dealing with life problems
caused by addictions. www.prairiehope.org
